Who are we? We are Kalvi; a FREE Tamil education website with resources to help give you the confidence to teach your children Tamil. FUN included! We do this by creating easy to download worksheets and videos for FREE. We want to spread our love of Tamil to you and your children. Everything is designed so that even if you don’t know Tamil it will not be an obstacle to pass on the Tamil language.
WHY TEACH TAMIL?
Having a second language has been shown to be beneficial not just for future job prospects but it has also been shown that knowing a second language can increase your ability to concentrate, increases brain power, improves memory among many other benefits. So give your children the gift of your mother tongue and get them to learn the beautiful language Tamil!
WE UNDERSTAND
We all know the feeling; frustration at wanting to pass on Tamil to our children. But many parents feel that they aren't able to do so for a number of reasons: be it not having the resources or the time. Or those that grew up in a Tamil household so understand Tamil but aren't able to speak it. Or those that know the language but can't read or write in Tamil. All these experiences are frustrating when it comes to teaching Tamil and Kalvi aims to help you cross this hurdle successfully. And who knows, maybe you will learn along the way with your children. Wouldn't that be a great bonding experience for us all?
